visitors or those looking to explore further off the beaten track. The itinerary
focuses on Jordan’s natural beauty and, with a walk through Dana Nature Reserve
and a night’s camping in the spectacular Wadi Rum desert, you will experience
some of the country’s most varied and dramatic scenery.

Day 1 To
Amman: Fly from London to
Amman with Royal Jordanian Airlines. Transfer to the Kempinski Hotel for
3 nights. (N) |

Day 2
Jerash: Morning visit to
the Roman site of Jerash. Optional afternoon visit to Ajloun Reserve
(Please advise at time of booking - supplement applies). (B)

Amman: Morning walking tour
of Amman. (B) |

Day 4 To
Dana: Morning drive to Dana
via Madaba, home to a Byzantine map of the region, and Mount Nebo, from
where Moses first viewed the Holy Land. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy a
walk in Dana Nature Reserve. Stay at Dana Guesthouse for 1 night. (B, D)

Day 5 To
Feynan: Full day 15km hike
along the Wadi Dana trail to Feynan. Stay at the Feynan Eco Lodge for 1

Day 6 To
Petra: Morning drive to
Petra. Stay at the Crowne Plaza for 2 nights. Afternoon at leisure. (B)

Day 7
Petra: Today there will be
a guided tour of Petra, the ‘rose-red’ city rediscovered by J.L.
Burckhardt in 1812. (B) |

Day 8 To
Amman: Morning at leisure.
Afternoon transfer to Amman and stay overnight at the Kempinski Hotel.
Alternatively, leave Petra in the morning and visit the Dead Sea en
route to Amman (supplement applies, please advise at time of booking).

London: Morning transfer to
the airport. Fly from Amman to London with Royal Jordanian Airlines. (B)

Discovery
Tour: This tour should be
considered adventurous and involves walking over rough terrain with some
steep ascents and descents. A good level of fitness is required.
Accommodation in Dana Nature Reserve should be considered basic. Feynan
Eco Lodge does not have electricity and at night is lit entirely by
candlelight. |

Sacrifice requires a steep climb. |
Discovery
Tour: This tour should be considered adventurous and
involves walking over rough terrain with some steep ascents and descents. A good
level of fitness is required. Accommodation in Dana Nature Reserve should be
considered basic. Feynan Eco Lodge does not have electricity and at night is lit
entirely by candlelight. Accommodation and facilities at the
desert camp are very basic - there is no electricity or running water. A
portable toilet will be available. The dome tent will include small mattresses
and sleeping bags, though you may wish to sleep outside under the stars. Dinner
and breakfast can be taken outdoors on the sand or at your traditional Bedouin
tent.
