This tour of Jordan offers an
opportunity to experience the wilder side of the country, ideal for second time
visitors or those looking to explore further off the beaten track. The itinerary
focuses on Jordan’s natural beauty and, with a walk through Dana Nature Reserve
and a night’s camping in the spectacular Wadi Rum desert, you will experience
some of the country’s most varied and dramatic scenery.
Itinerary
Day 1 To Amman: Fly from
London to Amman with bmi. Transfer to the Al Qasr Metropole Hotel for 3 nights.

Day 2 Amman: Morning walking tour of Amman with lunch at Iraq Al Amir, a
handicraft project run by the local community. (B, L)
Day 3 Amman: Today is at leisure or prebook a walk along the Al Ayoun trail,
north of Amman, or visit Madaba and Mount Nebo. Please see the Jordan

suggestions. (B)
Day 4 To Feynan: Early morning drive to Dana. Full day 15 km hike along the Wadi
Dana trail to Feynan. Stay at the Feynan Eco Lodge for 1 night. (B, L, D)
Day 5 To Petra: Morning drive to Petra. Afternoon at leisure. Stay at Beit Zaman
for 2 nights. (B)
Day 6 Petra: Today there will be a guided tour of Petra. (B)
Day 7 To Amman: Morning at leisure. Afternoon transfer to Amman and stay
overnight at the Al Qasr Metropole for 1 night. Alternatively drive to Wadi Rum
for a 4 x 4 excursion into the desert or visit the Dead Sea en route to Amman.

Day 8 To London: Morning transfer to the airport. Fly from Amman to London with
bmi. (B)
* Discovery tour: This tour should be considered adventurous and involves
walking over rough terrain with some steep ascents and descents; a good level of
fitness is required for the hike in Dana. At Petra, visiting the Monastery and
Place of Sacrifice requires a steep climb. Accommodation in Petra has been
chosen for its character and should be considered basic. Feynan Eco Lodge should
be considered very basic and does not have electricity and at night is lit
entirely by candlelight.

Tour: This tour should be considered adventurous and

considered basic. Feynan Eco Lodge does not have electricity and at night is lit
entirely by candlelight. Accommodation and facilities at the
desert camp are very basic - there is no electricity or running water. A
portable toilet will be available. The dome tent will include small mattresses
and sleeping bags, though you may wish to sleep outside under the stars. Dinner
and breakfast can be taken outdoors on the sand or at your traditional Bedouin
tent.
