The former imperial capitals and the
stunning Mughal architecture of northern India are combined with the historic
and culturally diverse sites of Jordan on a journey that includes visits to two
of the New Seven Wonders of the World: Petra and the Taj Mahal.
Itinerary...
Day 1 To Delhi: Overnight flight from London to Delhi with Jet Airways. (N)
Day 2 Delhi: Arrive in Delhi and transfer to the Intercontinental Eros (or
similar) for 1 night. Afternoon tour of Old Delhi. (N)
Day 3 To Agra: Morning tour of New Delhi. Afternoon drive to Agra and stay for 2
nights at the Mughal Sheraton (or similar). (B)
Day 4 Agra: Early morning visit to the Taj Mahal. After breakfast, take a tour
of Agra, once the Mughal capital of India. (B)
Day 5 To Bharatpur: Morning drive to Fatehpur Sikri, former imperial capital of
the great Mughal Emperor, Akbar. Continue to the former royal mansion of the
rulers of Bharatpur, Laxmi Vilas Palace, for an overnight stay. Afternoon visit
to Deeg Palace. Evening cultural show and dinner. (B, D)
Day 6 To Jaipur: Optional early morning excursion to Keoladeo National Park.
After breakfast, continue to the Pink City of Jaipur. Stay 2 nights at the
Rajputana Sheraton (or similar). Afternoon visit to the ancient fort palace of
Amber. (B)
Day 7 Jaipur: Morning visit to the City Palace, home of the present Maharaja.
Afternoon at leisure to relax or explore Jaipur’s many bazaars. (B)
Day 8 To Delhi: Visit Samode Palace, a fine example of Rajput and Mughal
architecture. Following a tour and lunch (optional), continue to Delhi and stay
overnight at the Intercontinental Eros (or similar). (B)
Day 9 To Amman: Fly from Delhi to Amman with Royal Jordanian Airlines. Transfer
to the Kempinski Amman for 1 night. Visit the Roman city of Jerash. (B)
Day 10 To Petra: Drive to Petra via Madaba, Mount Nebo and the 12th century
Crusader castle at Kerak. Continue to Petra and stay at the Beit Zaman for 2
nights. (B)
Day 11 Petra: Explore the spectacular Nabataean city of Petra. (B)
Day 12 To Amman: Drive to Wadi Rum and take a 4 x 4 excursion into the desert.
Continue to Amman and stay at the Kempinski Hotel for 1 night. (B)
Day 13 To London: Fly to London with Royal Jordanian Airlines. (B)

EXX: Land transport based on an a/c Tata Indigo
(or similar) in India. A larger car (Toyota Innova) is available for a
supplement of £75 per person, based on 2 sharing. In Jordan land
transport is based on a standard a/c saloon car. Petra by Candlelight is
not included for Independent Tours. Independent Tours include entrance
fees, local guide at Jerash and local guide for one 2 hour visit to
Petra.
Obligatory Christmas and New Year dinners are not included in the above
